About Us

P1000060 - HOME

We are a small company based in the town of Santa Elena de Uairén, Bolivar state, south east Venezuela. From here we run tours to many places in the Gran Sabana and beyond. “Sabanero” means “someone from the savanna” in spanish.

Ricardo is the driving force behind Sabanero Tours, and he has been helping people discover the best of Venezuela for more than 30 years. He was born in Venezuela but lived in Guyana until the age of 17, he speaks English and Spanish – and a little Portuguese.

When Ricardo first started bringing tourists to the Gran Sabana there were no tarmac roads. Thankfully, things have improved since then but we can still offer you plenty of off-road thrills and an unforgettable experience.

You can be assured of a warm welcome and personal attention from all of us at Sabanero Tours.
